My work springs from the attempt to grasp the fleeting in its transience. Traces in which each glance acquires singular significance, pointing beyond itself, as a moment of a movement. My efforts to capture visual impressions as they pass while depicting this endeavour’s futility inform my multilayered mixed-media technique. I work with structures that I release from their original contexts to assemble them into new patterns of movement. Rigorous compositions of superimposed details form continuously dissolving patterns, reflecting the tension between moment and movement.
Traces of this work remain visible in the layered images, as references of only temporarily halted processes of emergence. Entanglements and excerpts probe abstract fragments for unity but only ever encounter inklings and associations.
